I can remember no time… even in earliest childhood, when I didn’t assume I was going to be a writer.

It raises environmental concern by enabling them to develop an awed and respectful, even sympathetic kind of attachment to the marine wildlife featured in her book, shifting the environmental attitudes of her audience in doing so.
