About me

Let me introduce myself

My name is Yara Tetelepta, I am a 22 year old psychology student from Tilburg University, the Netherlands. Lucky as I am, I got the opportunity to study a semester abroad, so currently I am on exchange at Nanyang Technological University Singapore. My hobby’s include hiking, reading, hanging out with my friends and most of all: travelling and exploring new places. Everyday is a new opportunity to learn, grow, explore and to enjoy yourself! That are the words I live by.

In the Netherlands, I live in Empel, a small town in the south of the Netherlands (see picture below). The first thing you might notice, is that there is a lot of water surrounding the area where I live. That is not something unique about my home town: all over the Netherlands there is a lot of water. All this water can cause some trouble at times. For me, this is a very normal thing, but actually it is very special that my country is fighting against all this water everyday. This blog is about water in the Netherlands, the history of floats, the measures the country takes and about how the Dutch population deals with this.

I hope you will enjoy my blog!

Best,

Yara
