Welcome to this blog about animal substance use in medicines! My name is Michelle Dekkers and I’m a psychology student from the Netherlands, but currently I’m studying at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. To know more about me, please go to  áutobiography’.

In this blog for the course conservation psychology, I will talk about the Traditional Chinese Medicine and how animals are involved in this tradition. On top of that, I will discuss what animals are threatened because of animal substance use in medicines and the psychological mechanism that may be underlying in this phenomenon. In the end I will come up with possible solutions for this problem. I hope you will enjoy!
