Singapore’s Green spaces

Despite being a small nation with limited land, Singapore’s green urban planning policies have ensured that a specified amount of land is set aside for the establishment of green spaces. Under theĀ  2014 Urban Redevelopment Master Plan, which is reviewed once every 5 years, 10% of our land is allocated for green use. Nature reserves account for half of these land while the remaining area is set aside to make provision for the building of new parks. When taking into consideration roadside greenery and park connector networks, almost half of our island is covered in lush foliage. With over 300 parks and 4 nature reserves there are plenty of green spaces to cater to a wide range of activities and individuals. Young, old, active or just a little bit lazy? Not to worry there is something in stored for you! There is much to be explored on this tiny island we call home so grab a friend and family and let’s see what Singapore has to offer!
