About Me

Hello!  I’m Faith, a Year 2 Psychology student.

I first began thinking about this issue when I saw this video on Youtube. Granted, Singapore’s population can’t match up to America’s, thus the amount of waste generated from takeaway is much less. Proportionately, however, we are on par with America. In both countries, takeaway packaging accounts for about 10% of the total waste generated.

This is significant, because takeaway produces waste that does not need to be produced! We could cut down on 10% of non-recyclable, single-use, disposables, which are unsustainable and harmful to our environment. This can be done by choosing to dine in, or by bringing our own containers.

Since embarking on this project, I’ve personally managed to avoid taking away food unless I have my own container (the hypocrisy induction is real).

Thus, I hope that through my blog, I’ll be able to convince you to take on one of the two most practical alternatives to takeaway, so that you, too, can reduce the amount of waste you generate!
