Before I start on the introduction of this blog, let me just ask a quick intellectual question:
Did you get that right? Were you thinking about the real reason why do the French eat snails? On a serious note, what could be the reason some people eat snails? In fact, why are some animals treated differently from others? Some eaten while some are not? Why do we protect and care for some animals, whereas others (although endangered) are heavily neglected by the general human population?
In my blog, we will explore the possible reasons why we react favorably to some animals but unfavorably to others, leading to the difference in behavior towards different animals. I would then point out the possible impacts these differences have on the environment and conservation efforts. Finally, I would recommend some steps we can take to mitigate the problem.
