Welcome

Hello readers!

Human-animal interactions have been an increasingly explored topic in current times. We regularly cross paths with wild animals almost every day, be it wild birds or stray cats and dogs. Another example would be the long-tailed macaques that roam about McRitchie Reservoir, expecting people like us to feed them.

Thus, this blog aims to highlight the impact of cross-species interaction, using human and otters in Singapore as the prime example. Firstly, characteristics and behaviors of the otters would be explored to explain their ability to live in places which are highly visited by people as well as to why they would live there.  Next, the current and potential issues with such interactions would be raised while lastly, current and possible interventions  will also be discussed to raise awareness and alleviate the adverse effects of such problems.
