Hello! My name is Wei Xiang, and I am a third-year psychology student from Nanyang Technological University.

I grew up watching Steve Irwin wrangling with crocodiles and conquering other deadly creatures onĀ  The Crocodile Hunter. I was a huge fan of the program and there was never a dull moment watching him hanging out with different types of animals. Needless to say, I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of him passing away due to an accident during filming with a manta ray.

When this blog assignment was first released to us, the first topic that came to my mind was Steve Irwin. However, after conducting a preliminary research, I was surprised to find out that his son, Robert, has embarked on the same conservation journey as Steve to continue his legacy. What surprised me even further was the similarity between Steve and Robert, especially the way they talk when it comes to animals. The decision to choose Robert Irwin as my blog topic came as it seemed to be an apt idea at that moment to join Robert in his journey to spread the message on wildlife conservation and uphold Steve’s legacy.

Lastly, I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I had fun doing it up! At only 16 years old this year, Robert has achieved many things in the conservation world that have left people in awe but also put a smile on your face at the same time. He has definitely made Steve proud!
