About

Thank you for visiting my blog! Here is my face so you can put a face to the name:

Hello it is I, I am shy (image credits: Tan Yee Ting)

I am Yee Ting and this is my conservation psychology blog on the topic on Semakau Landfill! As a kid, I had quite a fair share of school field trips to various places like Jurong Bird Park, East Coast Park, and Singapore Art Museum, to name a few. Lucky me managed to visit the Senoko Incineration Plant (one of the 4 WTE plants in Singapore) not once, not twice, but thrice! From my foggy memory, I was wow-ed by the place on all 3 visits – imagine a tiny innocent kid gawking at all the gigantic scary-looking machines. One thing I remember learning about during the informational lectures is Semakau Landfill, and these memories of the school field trips inspired me to choose this topic for my conservation psychology blog! Not many people have had the chance to visit the WTE plants or Semakau Landfill itself, therefore I hope to share some of my knowledge with you guys!

As you read this blog, I hope to raise awareness and educate my readers about the waste and landfill situation in Singapore, and evaluate some of the solutions taken in response to the problem discussed in this blog. Of course, since this is a conservation psychology blog, wherever possible, I try to back my content with psychological concepts. Enjoy reading!
