Human-tiger conflict is a serious problem in Sumatra (WWF, 2016). The loss of natural habitat forces tigers to search for food in settled areas, hence leading to higher possibilities of coming into conflict with humans. People have been killed and wounded by tigers, and the tigers prey on the people’s livestocks. Therefore, villagers retaliate, and result in the killing of tigers.
