Climate Change

Climate Change has been cited as one of the main causes of flooding in the region. Due to an increase in rainfall intensity, and increased melting of snow in the Himalayas, resulting in higher river volume and flow. This ultimately results in higher rates of bank erosion and flooding along the Brahmaputra river in Assam.
