Mekong River Commission

The Mekong River Commission (MRC) is a transboundary river basin organisation based in Southeast Asia. As an inter-governmental organisation, it provides a discussion forum for the governments of its four member countries, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, to cooperatively maintain the shared water resource, to ensure sustainable development along the Mekong River and to maintain regional peace.

The predecessors of the MRC were the Mekong Committee and the Interim Mekong Committee.
