Space constraints for waste disposal as well as housing is a long-standing Tragedy of the Commons (ToC) in Singapore. It arises from the unrestrained usage of common pool resources, in this case land and any materials that we obtain and dispose. ToC is caused by mundane activities and not by deliberate intentions to harm others. Such phenomenon can be attributed to external and internal causes, comprising of mainly social and psychological factors.
