This blog is a biography on the Chinese environmental activist, Chai Jing. It takes special focus on one of her most important and influential documentary film, Under the Dome (穹顶之下).
Through studying her documentary, this blog hopes not only to educate the reader on the issue of air pollution in China as a case study, but also to analyse the ways in which Chai engages effectively with the public. Effective environmental activism has many tenets, but before providing solutions, activists have to first think about how to get the public to even care enough about the issue.
The change in my attitude towards air pollution throughout the course of watching her documentary is a testament to its effectiveness. I care now. And I hope that this blog would provide you with the tools to inspire others to positive change as well.
