Hello!

This is a biography blog about William Kamkwamba, or more famously known as “the boy who harnessed the wind”. He was born in Malawi, a poverty-stricken country that relied primarily on agriculture. At the age of 14, his country was hit by a drought, forcing him to drop out of school when his family could not afford the fees. Wanting to read even late at night, he built a windmill from scrap materials based on a picture from the textbook, Using Energy, to operate a lightbulb. This is his story.
