Being a small country with limited land, Singapore has lost much of its forest covers during the period of rapid industrialization and urbanization. Still, Singapore is known as one of the greenest cities on Earth, successfully integrating 350 nature parks and 4 nature reserves into community spaces. Nestled between blocks of housing estates, parks filled with lush greenery welcomes visitors of all ages to relax and engage in various recreational activities. Nature reserves and botanical gardens sustain much of Singapore’s biodiversity, attracting people seeking to explore nature in its more rugged state.
