Overall, the bias we have towards charismatic fauna has many significant impacts on the way we choose to prioritise our limited resources in conservation and research. While charismatic fauna can play important roles as communication tools to garner support for the wider conservation movement from the public, it is crucial for us to recognise the existence of this bias, so that we can actively avoid the potential negative effects of this phenomenon (such as the sucking of resources away from ecologically important species).
