Defining an epoch

As of now, the International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS) and International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) has yet to officially recognise Anthropocene as an epoch. Currently, geologist and environmentalist all around the world are actively debating whether this term should be recognised, some believe that the Anthropocene is a mark of a new era while others believe that the Anthropocene portrays an image of human’s dominion over earth and should not be approved.
