Besides the small farmers and the MNCs, the government too plays a crucial role in the Indonesian forest fires. In this section, we will take a closer look at some of the policies the government have adopted and see how they have come to implicate the issue.
Besides the three examples above, another point worth noting is the severe corruption within the government. Corruption has greatly impeded help towards the forest fires problem. It is important to note that if the corruption situation does not improve, complete destruction of the forests is definitely possible.
