Examples

Having discussed four main methods where design can affect consumer’s and viewer’s attitudes, knowledge and behavior of environmental issues, we now turn to review five  examples of design works that were done with eco-friendliness in mind.

Most design work that attempt to relate to users and audiences psychologically are able to do so through a combination of two or more such methods. The designers of these five examples make use of more than one method, and these tend to be more effective in getting the message across than when just relying on one method alone. Such products also convey a more “wholesome” message, such that consumers and viewers may find the messages that such products convey to be more valid and trustworthy. Some works have also broken away from the traditional means of making use of such methods. This innovation not only attracts the attention of consumers and audience, but also encourages other designers to follow suit.

The five design work’s functions and environmentally-friendly concepts will be briefly discussed in this section. This section will also discuss the effectiveness of such works in conveying the environmental awareness message, and how the design of this product can be improved to better convey the message.
