Hello there! My name is Nilah Jumat and I am a student of NTU majoring in psychology.
As you can tell from my photo, one of my favorite things to do is to drink tea. The photo taken above documents my experience of tasting authentic Indian chai for the first time. It was taken by a roadside tea stall on one hot afternoon in the alleyways of Georgetown, Chennai. Last December, my friend Syarah and I embarked on what I think is the greatest travel achievement I have ever done- a backpacking trip through South India. It was an eye-opener, to say the least, and it has since changed my outlook on life. It was a truly humbling experience for me as I had met many types of people in this trip who have taught me countless lessons on how to be content with life despite the financial and social challenges they face. It is one of the main reasons why I chose this topic for my conservation blog project.
