Hey there! My name is Ethel and this is my first ever blog on conservation!
Why Asian elephants? You may ask. Well… It is partly because elephant is my favourite animal and since I am living in Singapore, which is one of the Asian countries, the Asian elephants therefore seem to hit much closer to home.
I remember those days where I would always tune in to Nat Geo Wild in the morning for a particular documentary that prominently features the life of wild elephants (a pity that I could not remember the name of this program). Whenever I managed to come across this documentary, I will somehow lose my heart to this charismatic and majestic land animal for there is a touch of cool in them that is not only appealing, but also reassuring.
I do not know about you but to me, it is difficult to imagine that Asian elephants will one day be entirely phased out. So, let us now work toward understanding more of this beautiful creature and show our support to the various conservation efforts. As the saying goes, “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?”
