Take Action!

Now that we’ve admitted to ourselves that we have collectively contributed to the production of food waste in Singapore, perhaps it is time to take matters into our own hands and start educating ourselves about the small steps that we can take in our daily lives to alleviate the problem.

The Save Food Cut Waste campaign by Green Future Solutions was introduced in November 2012 to raise awareness, as well as educate and encourage people to take action in reducing food waste. Specifically, they suggest that individuals and households can reduce food waste in three stages: “Grow and Buy”, “Cook and Eat” and “Give and Recycle”. Essentially, the idea is to educate yourself about the food resources and the manners in which you can use it sustainably, while reducing the amount of food waste generated.
