Honey bees play a important part in the production of food for human. It has been said that a third of the food we eat depends on the pollination by the honey bees. These includes many of the fruits and vegetables, such as apples, soybeans, almonds, blueberries etc. However, scientists have observed a sharp decline in the colonies of the bees around the world. There are many reasons which contributed to the disappearing of the bees colonies such as global warming, use of harmful pesticides and decline of flowering plants. This blog aims to contribute to the conservation of the honey bees by presenting the issues related to the disappearing of the bees such as the threats that the bees face and also the conservation psychology involved in this issue.
This is a short video which briefly explains what is the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) which is happening throughout the world.
