The use of this approach is to set behavioural limitations through emotional influences by instilling values and ethical appeals in people in order to protect the environment.
For example, allowing people to see that the use of harmful pesticides is ethically wrong will change people’s mindset and belief that they should not do that. However, not everybody will abide to these beliefs and set behavioural limitations to themselves but the motivation behind this approach is the fear of criticisms by others. Therefore, this approach should be adopted with other approaches in order for moral values and appeals to be vastly shared so as to reinforce the appropriate behaviours.
