Media play an extremely important catalyst for better or for worse. This is because the information that the media gives plays a crucial role in the perceptions that people have about climate change and more specifically about global warming. The quality and quantity of coverage will influence the importance that people give to the issue of global warming; this is the reason why the media is often referred to as the agenda-setter. Numerous studies have authenticated this phenomenon. Further several theories like the hypodermic needle theory or the magic bullet theory which essentially say that media is the active agent is providing information while people passively act upon that information; highlight the importance of media in the issue of global warming.
