The author is currently doing a double major in Sociology and Psychology and has been exposed to many courses about environmentalism throughout the past 7 semesters. However, conservation psychology introduced a fresh perspective via its focus on understanding and attempting to alter human actions that affect the environment.
Wildlife trade is an interesting and striking phenomenon to the author as it is the third largest illegal business in the world, only trailing behind firearms and drugs. Pangolin is the largest illegal mammal trade, and the state of its species is alarming, but yet the problem is still exacerbating despite the laws in place.
The disturbing realization that humans as a population are decimating other species as a result of our selfish actions is the main motivation for this blog.
