As the world’s first, oldest and largest global environmental organisation, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has the widest network across the globe involved in conservation of biodiversity and natural resources. It has more than 1,200 member organizations in partnership, including more than 200 governments and over 900 non-government organizations. A Global Programme is revised every four years, shaping their frame of work. The current Global Programme runs from 2012 to 2016.
