Other countries

First let’s have a look at how other countries deal with the plastic issue.

The European Parliament (EP) has decided that in 2019 Europe has to reduce the use of thin plastic bags by 80%. The EP says that these kind of bags are the most likely to end up in the environment, so basically, they are the ones that cause the most pollution. They say that the governments of the European countries are obligated to make sure that the public is taught how to reduce and what the alternatives are. This is how Europe deals with the problems that plastic bags cause. Other countries around the world also try to reduce the use of plastic bags. A couple of examples of how countries deal with the plastic problem are given.

But Europa isn’t the only part in the world that’s trying to reduce the use of plastic. A lot of Asian countries are trying to get shop owners to stop giving away free plastic bags. An other idea is to get people to use more degradable plastic bags, because those won’t cause as many pollution as their non-degradable brothers.
