In response to the dwindling orangutan population and habitats, various conservation efforts have been made by different organisations and groups in hopes of preventing a further decline in these numbers. Some of these initiatives are more effective and others, but as a whole, more is needed to be done before we can safely say that these gentle primates will be here to stay for the next millennium.
