Jakarta is sinking at a rate of about 0.5 to 17 cm/year. If this were to continue on further, Jakarta will in total have sank about 5 to 6 m by 2100.

The photo here shows subsidence that occurred between 1974 to 2010. As you can see, certain parts of Jakarta is has actually sank close to 4 m since then.

 

2050PredictionAt the rate at which the subsidence is going on currently, the parts in red would be below sea level by 2050 unless something is done to mitigate this problem.
