Green Economy

According to United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), a green economy is one that is “low carbon, resource efficient, and socially inclusive.” Given that the global population is increasing exponentially, there will be rising demands for goods and services. This may sounds like an opportunity for businesses except that the Earth only has finite amount of resources. Coupled with the impact of climate change, businesses need to start adopting greener operation practices to ensure their sustainability and competitiveness. With very limited natural resources, Singapore is greatly reliant on importation. This makes it more crucial for local businesses to be more resource efficient.
