Why should we conserve?

Tigers play an important role in the health and diversity of the ecosystem. Being at the top of the food chain, their survival is dependent upon herbivores, where the tiger maintains their population which in turn prevents the land from being overgrazed. Every species plays a significant role in the ecosystem as it is highly interlinked. The ecosystem needs a good balance between prey and the vegetation upon which they feed, in order to function in a healthy manner and maintain diverse.

If a species such as tigers goes extinct, the effect on the entire ecosystem would be very large and damaging. It would cause disruption and a serious imbalance between prey and vegetation which would further affect the land/forest on a much larger scale.

Tigers are very important in the structuring of communities and therefore ecosystems and the need for preservation of this species is essential.
