The Graduate Studies Career Development Office at Nanyang Technological University’s Nanyang Business School works with students to discover, finetune, and reach their career goals. This partnership between the Office and students creates defining moments in our students’ career journey.
Market researcher Marvin Halim, from Indonesia, is currently enrolled in the MSc Marketing Science programme at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore). As part of the programme’s Strategic Marketing course, students address various real-world business challenges through individual projects. In Marvin’s case, the business challenge was to help a brand enhance its market position during and after COVID-19. Marvin worked on a proposal for Shiseido Asia Pacific and eventually clinched a role as a regional marketing intern at the company. Here, he shares his story.
Digital marketer Aayushi Vyas was looking forward to the MSc Marketing Science programme at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where she was slated to join the July 2020 intake. As the global pandemic worsened, Aayushi decided to press on in her path even though there were a few challenges to overcome, in particular, having to serve a two-week mandatory Stay Home Notice (SHN) in Singapore upon arrival from India and managing anxiety along the way. She shares with us her experience and offers tips for prospective students.
Nikhita Joshi has a business degree. After cutting her teeth in digital marketing for four years, her passion became clear: the dynamic world of marketing is where she thrives. Nikhita enjoys planning, executing, and analysing digital marketing strategies and campaigns across industries. She has worked on projects which include CRM, lifecycle marketing, content, and performance media for various portfolios. She shares how her journey led her to embark on Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) MSc Marketing Science.
Four months ago, I was waiting eagerly for emails from the universities I had applied to. Little did I know I’d be homebound for 3 months – no get-togethers with friends, no work to look forward to. COVID-19 affected the plans of so many people, including myself. Students like me were filled with worry about our future. However, all of that changed on a warm spring afternoon when I received the admissions offer to the MSc Marketing Science from the Nanyang Business School (NBS) – my dream school!
