In conjunction with freshmen welcome week, NTU Library organised a two-day library orientation programme which was held on 13 and 14 August 2018 at Lee Wee Nam Library. This year’s events were centered around the theme Discover NTU Library with a full day line-up of activities which included workshops, talks, tours and quizzes with attractive prizes.

The highlight of the event was the “Discover NTU Library Quiz” during which students with the correct answers got an exciting opportunity to spin the “Wheel of Knowledge” and win a mystery prize.

The freshmen also got a first-hand experience to the information, knowledge and library services NTU Library offers when they attended the library orientation talks followed by tours around Lee Wee Nam Library to learn more about its spaces and facilities.

There were also four database workshops where vendors shared with students about how their resources and services which NTU library subscribes to can aide them in their research and study. The orientation programme highlights included lunchtime talks by two prominent industry speakers who were invited to share about trending global topics such as artificial intelligence and, block chains and cryptocurrencies.

The attendees also got to participate in other user engagement activities such as NTU Library Blocks Contest and Emerald Quiz and also learn more about NTU Library’s social media platforms. A total of 906 participants consisting of undergraduate and post-graduates attended the two-day event.

NTU Library wishes our freshmen all the best for their journey at NTU and look forward to serving their information and knowledge needs with our library services.
