Welcome to E2B2_v.2 – Energy Efficient Balloon Bot for Volcano Surveillance (2nd generation)! Our group took over the previous E2B2 project from the seniors and aims to make further improvements and innovations in the balloon bot. This project primarily aims to resolve the problem of autopilot failure in the seniors’ flight experiments, in order to successfully produce an energy-efficient drones with extended flight time for volcano surveillance.

Team

Our team consists of four members, namely Van Dan Thu, Jovan Lim, Sun Huiwen and Ong Wei Sern. (from left to right).

Van Dan Thu

Thu is a Year 1 student majoring in Biological Science. She comes from Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, and she enjoys Chinese materials like novels and drama shows. In this project, Thu focuses on managing the wiring components of our hardware, and also serves as the co-pilot for our plane drone.

Jovan Lim

The only Singaporean in our group, Jovan is a Year 1 student majoring in Physics. During his free time, he can be found watching Physics videos and munching on vegetables… In this project, Jovan runs through the technical feasibility of our designs and materials, and assists in tinkering works.

Sun Huiwen

五月天 Mayday’s biggest fan, Huiwen, is from China and she is a Year 1 student majoring in Environmental Earth Systems Science. In this project, Huiwen focuses on the tinkering aspects like soldering and crimping, as well as hardware configurations.

Ong Wei Sern

Wei Sern, a Year 1 student majoring in Environmental Earth Systems Science comes from Singapore’s friendly neighbour, Malaysia. Like Thu, they were born as night owls… In this project, Wei Sern focuses on software research and the coordination of logistical needs. He is also the pilot of the plane drone.
