E-Waste Campaign 2012

Date: 16th February 2012
Time: 7:30am to 3:00pm
Venue: St. Joseph s Institution, Malcolm Road

This year, the initiative was taken to kick-start awareness about electronic waste accumulation in Singapore. To do so, it has targeted the secondary schools in Singapore because the best way to spread awareness is to start at the grass roots.

It is believed such an initiative was important since the amount of E-wastes in Singapore is rapidly increasing but not many initiatives are being taken towards their recycling. Also, among all urban wastes, E-wastes are the most toxic form of wastes. Also, we truly believe that E-waste is not waste considering the amount of precious minerals like gold, platinum, etc. that can be extracted from them.
