Save That Pen @ NTU

Date: 1st 31st December 2011
Venue: Outside LWN Library and LKC Lecture Theatre

Save That Pen @ NTU is about environmental sustainability and aiding the community at the same time. Noting the pen wastage culture pervasive in today?s society, we wish to spread the message of sustainability by calling for people to give us their unwanted and refillable pen-bodies. This is a joint venture with NUS. Both Earthlink NTU and NUS would be collaborating and working together towards the success of the Save That Pen . This has been implemented in NUS for 2 years now, and Earthlink wants to bring it to NTU.

Objectives

– To create an avenue for NTU students to donate used pens to non-profit organisations that is involved in educational projects for students in need.
– To encourage the reuse of pens by putting into place a long-term, sustainable system that promotes the use of pen-refills instead of consuming new pens.
– To translate the sustainable message into the daily lives of both NTU students and recipients of the donated pens.
