Earthlink x The Fashion Pulpit Clothes Swap
The fashion industry is a major contributor to waste, but what if giving your clothes a new life was as easy as swapping them? This was the driving idea behind the Earthlink x The Fashion Pulpit Clothes Swap, held recently to promote sustainable fashion and champion the circular economy within the NTU community. We partnered with renowned social enterprise The Fashion Pulpit(TFP) to create a meaningful alternative to fast fashion. Our goal was to reduce textile waste by encouraging the reuse and sharing of clothing items, turning old items into new treasures to others.

The true success of the event lies in its tangible impact on waste reduction. Our community embraced the swap which resulted in significant savings and a major step towards reducing our collective carbon footprint. This project successfully achieved its objectives which are saving 36 kilograms of clothing from the landfill and avoiding the equivalent of 3.2 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Every swap and item rehomed reinforced the power of conscious consumption.

The Earthlink x The Fashion Pulpit Clothes Swap was a resounding success, proving that sustainability can be both impactful and fun. Future Earthlink committees are highly encouraged to continue this collaboration as it perfectly aligns with Earthlink’s mission and engages students meaningfully.
We look forward to introducing more diverse choices in future editions to ensure this vital initiative continues to grow and enrich the NTU community’s commitment to a greener planet!’.
