A Spooktacular Night: Hall7ween Wildlife Education Booth
This Halloween, Hall 7 was buzzzzz-ing đ with excitement as residents participated in an interactive booth organized by Earthlink HWC to raise awareness about humanâwildlife coexistence. Games at the booth taught residents how to safely and responsibly interact with the wildlife often seen around Nanyang Crescent Halls, with a focus on bees, moths, bats, and snakes.

At our booth, we displayed various specimens, including an ethanol-preserved Kell-bellied Whip Snake that was a victim of roadkill on the NTU blue track, and various unique bee and bug species that were collected near Hall 7. Through engaging hands-on demonstrations and attractive displays, participants learned the vital roles such wildlife play in our ecosystem, gaining a greater appreciation for our wild neighbours.

Another highlight of the booth was the voting board, where students cast their votes for the animal they most frequently encounter around Hall 7. This form of visualisation sparked lively conversations about personal experiences and wildlife sightings in our campus halls.

Residents also learned practical tips on what to do during a wildlife encounter. Small actions like maintaining safe distance from wildlife or safely releasing a trapped insect can help make the environment safer for both humans and animals. It was heartening to see curiosity turn into appreciation as we inspire meaningful conversations about living in harmony with wildlife.
