Announcing the winners of the #CoSScienceArt Competition!
Held from 21st October to 13th December 2019, students, staff and faculty of CoS were invited to create original, science-inspired artworks.
The winners were presented a prize by the Dean of Science, Professor Simon Redfern, at CoS Day 2020.
Kon Wen Yu, an alumnus of the Physics and Applied Physics programme in NTU School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences clinched the Global Winner award in the “Mathematics and Physics” category of the Global Undergraduate Awards 2019.

Yeng Jia Wen, Jamie, represented School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at the 10th University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS). From inspiring keynote speakers to giving back to the society, Jamie gives us a glimpse into her rewarding experience in KL.
She attributes her giving nature to her father, and it is something she hopes to embody as part of his legacy. Her father, even when ill, paid visits to a relative and a family friend diagnosed with cancer to cheer them up.
Associate Professor Ranjan Singh has been elected as the Fellow of the Optical Society (OSA) for pioneering contributions to the field of terahertz science and technology through the development of active metamaterial platforms for sensing, ultrafast switching, and communication applications.

Ng Zi Xuan, currently a fourth year Chemistry and Biological Chemistry (CBC) undergraduate in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS), won the Gold medal in Chemical Laboratory Technology at WorldSkills Singapore 2018. She went on to represent Singapore in the WorldSkills Competition in Kazan, Russia in August 2019. We spent some time with Zi Xuan where she generously shared her WorldSkills experience.
