As a collaborative effort with SAP University Alliance, this programme was conducted by BizIT students at three secondary schools. The programme aims to interest, inspire, and equip youths with data analytics skills to design solutions to build Singapore into a Smart Nation.
In addition to knowledge obtained in their own classrooms at NTU, volunteers also went through specialised training by SAP which allowed them to better deliver workshops covering topics such as Big Data, Data Analytics and Design Thinking.
To illustrate to the youth that social challenges can be addressed using data analytics, one portion of the programme required students to use electricity consumption and travel data to come up with solutions.

Initially started as the NBS-SCS Chapter which was launched on 22 September 2004 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Nanyang Business School’s (NBS) Executive Vice Dean, Professor Gillian Yeo and Singapore Computer Society’s (SCS) President, Mr Lee Kwok Cheong (KC).
