Human Resource Consulting Club organised a day of learning and engaging games for 50 primary school children from Whispering Hearts Student Care Centre. The centre takes care of school-going children while the parents are at work.
Comprising of a simple lesson on “Spending and Saving Wisely” and mini carnival station games, the children were eager to learn as well as participate in the various activities planned for them.
One of the games planned was “Freeze and Melt”. It involved students working collaboratively with members of their team, where one group of students (the “catchers”) would have to run around and touch any member of the opposing team (the “runners”). Once the runners have been touched, they will remain stationary. The frozen runners can only start moving again if their fellow unfrozen runners touch them. The game ends when all the runners have been frozen.
Through the interactive lesson, the children were able to understand and bring home the message of cultivating the habit of saving and spending wisely.
