Tung Roh Suan is the founding director and Editor-in-Chief of Balestier Press, an independent publishing house established in 2015, with offices in London and Singapore. Focused on world literature and translations from Asia, Balestier Press has quietly gained recognition, with several of its titles receiving literary accolades, including English PEN awards. With a passion for uncovering lesser-known works and amplifying diverse voices, they are committed to promoting cultural understanding through translation. Before entering literary publishing, they were a professor of theoretical physics and an academic publisher.
