Azhagunila
Azhagunila (fiction, nonfiction, poetry and children’s books) is the author of Oranju, Sirukattu Chunai, Sang Kancil, Appan and Mozhivazhi Kanavu; The latter won the Singapore Literature Prize 2022. Sirukattu Chunai and Appan were shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize 2020 and 2024 respectively. She has also published four picture books and one middle grade novel for young readers: Kondama Kendama, Melissavum Merlionum, Melissavum Japaniya Moothatiyum, Pa Ang Bao and Pulanaga Puligal. The former won the ‘Beyond Words’ competition by Singapore Book Council in 2015. She was selected as a writer-in-residence for the National Arts Council – Sangam House Residency 2022-23. Her other works include two e-books, Vasipenum Vaanam and Thotra Kavithaigal. She holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering.
