Portraits of Passing Time is a series of paintings depicting strangers in public spacesperforming mundane daily tasks. Although the artist finds “people-watching” somewhat melancholic, there is something about the transience of those moments that he finds beautiful. Struck by the tension in the nostalgia of passing beauty, his works spell the imminent detachment from life that living moments have, as time flows relentlessly by.
“These days, small moments that fill our daily life seem to be more ephemeral than before. I hope my portraits may find some success in capturing and preserving these moments.”
