What significance does a person hold in a physical space? How would a space view us?

Cache is an audiovisual interactive experience that explores the human-spatial relationship in the perspective of a space. Human presence is visualized in a non-human way, as a series of coordinates and forces acting upon the space.

Human movement within the space as well as their bodily corner coordinates are tracked and manipulated into abstract pulsating shapes and lines. Some are more immediate, some appear seconds after, reflecting the difference in the perception of time for a space.

There is no obvious change upon detection of human presence within the space. When no humans are present, the visuals generated are constant reinterpretations of their presence imprinted behind. This effect can be achieved because the webcams continue to track the projected visuals left on the walls, altering slightly with each iteration. Human presence is therefore retained only momentarily before it distorts and eventually fades over time.
