Electronics are finally here! Left with my sensors and one more battery to purchase and I will be ready to test them out after planning. A lesson I learnt after purchasing from SparksFun is… it is good to research what can be bought from Singapore before purchasing them online from overseas. Upon receiving the package, there is an extra charge required (perhaps because of batteries).
Previously, I wanted to explore foiling method for the second layer of my dresses. However, after purchasing the fusible web I needed for the process, foil for fabric is not sold in either Art Friend and Spotlight. Attempting to find a fabric similar to the texture ends up in no avail. The above material is close to texture, however it is too stiff for my liking. I am afraid it may affect the flow effect I am going for. In addition, the colour I am looking for is unavailable.
After some thought, I decided to have a change of direction. Instead of creating the glistening effect, why not use a fabric that is already shiny: satin. After deciding on what I want to do, my parents and I head to Chinatown.
Layer 1: Electronics | White Lining
Layer 2: Colour and texture | White Satin
Layer 3: Pleats | Georgette
Now that my materials and bought, experimentation and actual realisation of the kind of blue and design I want for my second layer will be carried out. At the same time, the electronics will need more planning.
