There are far too many paper-based products for me to write about individually, so here is a rough list of some of the products that contain paper that I haven’t mentioned in this blog:

  • Culture – paper is crucial in our cultural heritage e.g. artworks, poetry and photography.
  • Food and Beverages – paper and packaging is a huge component of the food industry, keeping food fresh and easily transportable.
  • Commerce – I mentioned cash and receipts but this includes more than that e.g. postage stamps, letters, cheques etc.
  • Sanitary and Household – from tissues to nappies, we use paper all the time at home.
  • Medicine – paper is great for bandages, dressings, swabs, surgical tapes etc.
  • Transport and Protection -paper is often used to transport goods (in the form of paper bags to boxes)
  • Junk Mail – 104’700’000’000 junk mail letters delivered each year in the US alone!
