Wayne met and got married to the love of his life, Inge, in South Africa. Together they have 2 beautiful twin daughters, Cara Jayne and Tamsin! As work required Wayne to be in Tanzania, he’s often separated from his family members. His parents, Vera and Charles, reside in South Africa along with Wayne’s wife and children. Wayne likes to keep his private life and work separated, hence not a lot is known about his family.

Upon his passing, his wife Inge Lotter wrote a touching tribute to her loving husband:

“Wayne, you have always been my hero, my rock and my support…always humble and kind, always strove to elevate others and were wholeheartedly dedicated to your calling of being a custodian of nature…no matter the cost…Until then, our love will forever live inside of me.“
